These are the final images of my comic strip showing the setting up of a function, initiating the function, the 0.01 second loading time. the function completeing its task and the final result after the function has run its course.. I really like how it has ended up and how i have managed to relate two very different ideas.

Comic strip development
I getting some precedent images to base my comic strip on i have decided to go for quite a dark and grungy scene.. I looked at images of movies such as sin city and decided to do my comic strip in black, white and the colour red which i will use only in the last scene of my comic strip to show the ending.
I really like theses images as they give the impression the movie is veey grungy and dark which is how i want my comic to look. they have used black and white and high contrast to make the images stand out.

money and time plan
As far as money plan goes.. the comic itself will be very cheap to make as i can make it on my laptop. Printing will cost a bit more so iv budgeted about $30 for printing and another $10 for the foam board and maybe $3 for the glue stick to stick it down..
Time plan:
i dont think it will take me to long to complete my comic on photoshop. so i will work on that while i am at home and work on the written part during class.. And hopfully have a few days to sort out printing before the due date

idea three
My final idea is to make a comic strip that depics the procedings of my assasin attack.. The comic is going to resemble setting up a coding function, activating the function and then the end result of what happens.. I am going to print this off quite large and then put them on foam board so it can be hung up for the presentation

Project three
I have chosens functions as my coding term.. I feel like i can define the term quite well and have a few ideas already for the presentation

Final code Screen shot
This is a screen shot of my final working code.. Not much has changed except colours. I have chosen a selection of different greens so that no colours clash. I also found a cool thing from Kiran Matthews that makes my circles pulsate in and out which i thought added quite a cool effect.

code developments 3
Well after a large amount of reasearch into array lists I finally gave up and decided to make variables for each circle that was made..So at the moment a left click makes a larger circle and a right click makes a smaller circle, both of which make their corresponding sounds as the line passes through them. I then ran into the problem of how to reaset the application so you couldnt make infinate circles. So I have made it so that the 11th click of each button makes the 10 excisting circles disapear.. this means you can only have a maximum of 20 circles on the page at one time.. Next thing to do is decide on a colour scheme..
Code developments 2
At this point I added in my sounds.. I have chosen drum sounds that I have made on garage band, The idea being that you can make your own drumbeats.. Once I got the sounds playing the trick was to make them play as the larger pulsating circle hits them.. After playing round with it I found that i could get the sound to play only at the x or y co ordinate but not both.. meaning the sounds would play but they would play out of time with the pulsating circle.. At which point I admit frustration kicked in and I ditched the pulsating circle and instead went for a slightly more boring line that moves across the screen..
Here is the code with the moving line instead of the pulsating circle.. The good news is now I have a working code. Each circle plays its noice as the line hits the center co ordinate. Now for the tricky part of making more than two circles

code developments two
I have managed to make a circle that when left clicked it gets bigger and right clicked it gets smaller.. However i want to be able to click and leave the circles once the mouse is let go.. I am going to try and make it so a right and left click make a certain sized circle then try to make it so once clicked the circles will stay where they are. This way i thnk my code will be easier to understand and easier for me to try and code.
This is the code that allows me to click and leave circles using a left and right click however i still cannot make more than one of each.. I am first going to add a sound to this code and see if i can make it play when the pulsating circle hits one of the smaller circles.. Once i have done this i will at least have a working code that i can build off.

Code developments 1
This is the first development screen shot... this circle is set to expand its diameter by 5 each refresh which i may change once i get the code working and see if the sounds are playing to fast.. Iv gone for quite a dark background and a brighter circle. I was thinking about putting some sort of background picture in but it would get quite confusing in later stages once there is many circles on the screen

Project one reflections
Things I learnt:
I guess the first thing that I learnt was processing in general.. I had never tryed any coding before in my life.
I learnt how to make curves, arcs, and geometric shapes. I learnt how to fill shapes with colour and make colours transperant. I guess the hardest part of the project was just trying to save my sketches as pdf files which took quite a long time to figure out.
Things that helped:
I found that other people in the class were quite helpful. And also found that I could help other people with stuff that I had learnt. As far as motavation I guess just wanting to finish on time was my main motavation.
Improvments:
I would like to get more famililar with processing, im still struggling to understand most of it which obviously affected my final sketches. As a goal I want to be able to make better looking designs and start making things move on my page.

My first attempt
This was my first attempt at making my wallpaper.. as you can see the lines dnt really line up and i also found it hard to make smaller segments and curves.. I would have put ti up before the final but it was saved on the uni computers
final screen shots
Well after a lot of very fidely code to try and make my vines line up and add thorns iv finally finished my final mock ups.. Basically I got my inspiration my an unluckly source which turned out to be my neighbours back garden.. Since my initial sketches I have tryed a few different techniques to try and achieve curves that will look like vines.. My first was to use arcs which was going well but i found not only were they hard to understand but even harder to line up and get small segments to move and bend were i wanted them.. After a lot of trying and asking to many questions I also thort of a new problem of how to fill them with the colour i wanted.. After consulting ben he directed me to the curvevertex tool which makes your curves into a shapes which you can then fill with colour and adjust transperancy's... So i quickly abondoned my first attempt and set out with the new curve vertex tool.. My first problem was how to make a full shape of curves look like a small segment of vines that had a fill in them.. to do this i had to continue the curves off the page then come back and continue back to the finish point of the shape. Now the shape of my first part of vine was complete and finshed right a the very edge of each board.. Once I had a vine that stretched across four boards and line up so it would look continuous.. I made some smaller vines using the same tool but added some transperancy so they looked like they were in the background and wouldnt take your attention away from the main vine.. finally i started making thorns.. I started with thorns all of the same size and equal distances apart but decided it would better suit my initial thoughts if they were a bit randomly placed and sized..

Initial panel sketches
I apologise for the horrible condition of the scan. unfortunatly the scanner decided to only send me half of my sketch panels, but here is my final idea.. For my final im hoping to add some colour to this and play with transperancy...
